The March 26 and 29 FIFA sanctioned international dates are right around the corner, and once again Major League Soccer is screwing its teams and fans by playing during these dates.
The New York Red Bulls will be without six players for their March 26 clash with the Columbus Crew. Missing will be Tim Ream, Juan Agudelo, Dane Richards, Roy Miller, Rafa Márquez and Bouna Coundoul.
Considering that these two teams have won the last three Eastern Conference regular-season titles and met in the 2008 MLS Cup Final, it is a huge early season test for both teams. But the Red Bulls will be at a huge disadvantage.
And what about the fans in Columbus who bought tickets to this game, expecting to see a full strength Red Bulls side. Is MLS offering a discount on tickets for this game because NYRB will have their second team out? Of course not.
