Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says David Ospina’s form this season means he doesn’t need to sign a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have be linked with Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but Wenger is quoted in the Evening Standard talking about how the Gunner’s goalkeeping situation is.
“Look, I believe in the goalkeepers I have. I believe that Szczesny is a very good goalkeeper and Ospina has come in and done a fantastic job. You look at the numbers in the Premier League and who is top of all the goalkeepers and you will see it is Ospina.”
Ospina has won 11 of the 13 Premier League games he’s appeared in, while also keeping seven clean sheets. More importantly, the Colombian’s save percentage is significantly better than those of David De Gea, Joe Hart and Thibaut Courtois.
