Valencia have signed Russian Premier-Liga player of the year Alejandro Domínguez from FC Rubin Kazan on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old Argentinian attacking midfielder completed a medical at Mestalla on Monday before signing a three-and-a-half year deal with Valencia. Domínguez finished joint top scorer to help Rubin to their second successive Russian league title as well as scoring twice in six UEFA Champions League appearances this term.
Domínguez arrived in Russia with Rubin in March 2004 from River Plate. He also spent two seasons at Zenit St. Petersburg before returning to Rubin last April and helping them reclaim the Russian title. Valencia will look to seal their passage through to the UEFA Europa League last 32 when they visit Genoa on Thursday.
