Midfielder Tiago Mendes has signed a permanent deal with Atletico Madrid after his contract with Juventus was terminated earlier on Wednesday.
Tiago’s Juve deal was ended by mutual consent after the 30-year-old failed to make an impact in Turin, and he has now begun a two-year contract at the Estadio Vicente Calderon where he had a successful loan spell last season.
The former Chelsea man featured in 34 Liga matches last term, earning him the permanent deal. He only made 41 league appearances for the Old Lady in three years at the club after arriving from Lyon in 2007.
