According to a report from the CIES Football Observatory,Manchester United defender Eric Bailly was the most overpriced Premier League signing during the summer.
Bailly has been a revelation for United this season, after arriving for £32 million from Villarreal, but accordinf to the number crunchers at the CIES Football Observatory, United overpaid for the Ivorian centre-half by almost £20 million.
Not a surprise to see that Yannick Bolasie was the Premier League’s second-most overpriced player, with Everton apparently forking out just short of £19 million too much on the winger from Crystal Palace. But how was Moussa Sissoko’s £30 million move to Spurs not in the top 20 most overpriced signings is beyond me.
Although Manchester United smashed the world transfer record to take Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford, he places below John Stones, David Luiz and Marcos Alonso in the study.
Leroy Sane, Granit Xhaka , Michy Batshuayi, Benjamin Mendy, Sofiane Boufal and Christian Benteke complete the 12 Premier League players to make the list of 20 names.
