It looks like Liverpool will be able to unload Mario Balotelli after all as the Anfield flop is expected to complete a return to AC Milan within the next 48 hours.
Liverpool are so desperate to unload the Italian striker that they are expected to pay around 50% of Balotelli’s £90,000 per week wages if Milan takes him on loan for the season with an option to buy the 25-year-old next summer.
Over the weekend Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani confirmed their interest over the weekend of taking the forward back to Milan saying:
“We want Balo because we are convinced this lad realises that this is absolutely his last chance. I hope he understands that.”
The Milan Channel, the official television station of the club, reported that the Liverpool striker met with Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic on Saturday saying:
“There may well have been a meeting and it may well have been positive,” said a reporter on Milan Channel this afternoon.
“It seems that Mihajlovic perceived the total sincerity in the words of Mario Balotelli, who had a humble approach considering also the current situation of his career.
Milan are hoping that with the Euro’s coming up next summer that the striker will be motivated to recapture the form of 2013/14 when he scored 14-goals and had six-assists.
It looks like Super Mario’s first game back I’m Serie A will be the Milan Derby a week on Sunday against his former team and coach. That should add a little bit of extra spice to that fixture!
