Several Players Star in the Olympics

Sacha Klijestan: The Chivas USA midfielder vastly improved his international resume with his Olympic performance.  It is only a matter of time before a European outfit makes a bid offer for the 22-year-old U.S. international.  He ended with two goals scored in Group B action.

Sekou Cissé: The 23-year-old Ivorian striker scored two goals with one coming against finals participant Argentina.  Currently, he competes for Eredivisie outfit Roda JC.  He also netted four goals at the recent Toulon Tournament.

Moussa Dembélé: The 21-year-old Belgian striker already has three goals and he could add to his tally with the Bronze-medal match upcoming.  The AZ Alkmaar player has long been rumored with a move to the Premiership. 

Giuseppe Rossi:  The American-born Rossi continues to make his case for inclusion in Italy’s senior squad.  The 21-year-old Villarreal forward contributed a brace in his side’s quaterfinal loss to Belgium and ended the tournament with four goals scored.

Faris Haroun: The 22-year-old midfielder scored the vital goal in his squad’s victory of New Zealand to propel Belgium into the quarterfinal stage.  He has been steady in his midfield role all tournament and along with his senior international experience looks ready for a move to a larger European club.  He is currently with Germinal Beerschot.  If Belgium wins a medal on Friday vs. Brazil, Faris will play a large part in the outcome.
