FIFA president Sepp Blatter has apologised to both the English and Mexican FA’s for refeering errors that impacted both countries round of 16 games this week.
“Yesterday I spoke to the two federations [England and Mexico] directly concerned by referees’ mistakes said Blatter. “I have expressed to them apologies and I understand they are not happy and that people are criticising.”
After the tow high profile refeering errors there has been renewed pressure on FIFA to add in goal-line technology, something that Blatetr has refused to do in the past.
But the good politician that he is, Blatter says he is now take a look at the technology saying:
“We will naturally take on board the discussion on technology and have the first opportunity in July at the business meeting.”
