Ronaldinho has left Milan’s camp in Dubai and is flying to Brazil, presumably to seal his move to old club Gremio. The 30-year-old former World Player of the Year has failed to recapture his best form since a move to the Italian giants in 2008.
The impending arrival of Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano in the January window means the Brazilian would likely fall further out of favour with the Rossoneri.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has admitted Ronaldinho, a target for his former club Gremio, is all but certain to leave the San Siro.
“We await his departure becoming official,” Allegri told Sky Italia. “Maybe there was a lack of willingness on his part. I was convinced that Ronaldinho could have a great season. He started well, with a balanced side, but then everyone has to take their own responsibility.”
Ronaldinho is said to to have met his agent Roberto de Assis and Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani on Sunday to finalise a move to the Brazilian side.
On Friday Gremio vice-president Cidade Dias said that they would be able to sign Ronaldinho from Milan this month and set January 15 as the day when “everything will be clearer”.
