Brazil striker Adriano has been shown the door by Roma after just seven months, in which the former Inter Milan star played just five games in Serie A.
Adriano’s contract was due to run until June 2013 but Roma said they had reached agreement with him to end it early.
Adriano failed to turn up for training as scheduled after spending weeks in Brazil recovering from a broken arm.
“We found an agreement for an amicable early end to his contract, which was to have finished on June 30, 2013,” said a club statement.
