Inter president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has agreed to become Inter’s new coach
A statement on the Inter web site said:
“We have reached an agreement and we have sorted out the final details, which weren’t important things. All that is needed now is a countersignature. Benitez is not in Italy. Tomorrow we will tell you when he will be presented.”
Reports have Benitez signing anything from a three year to five contract for around five million euros per season. In addition Rafa is expected to bring his own backroom staff of assistant Mauricio Pellegrino, goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero and fitness coach Paco de Miguel with him.
Hopefully Inter will get the Rafa who twice lead Valencia to the Liga title and a UEFA Cup and not the one who was lost at Anfield this past season where Liverpool not only failed to get out of the group stages of the Champions League, but they also failed to even qualify for the Champions League next season.
