According to L’equipe journalist, Nabil Djellit, PSG have reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Argentine international, Angel Di Maria.
The French journalist confirmed on his Twitter account that Di Maria should be presented as a PSG player on Friday, in the USA. The fee agreed for the former Real Madrid man is around €65m.
Di Maria has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer and has yet to take part in United’s pre-season preparations. The Argentine struggled to settle into the Premier league and was benched for majority of last season.
Apart from the on pitch issues, Di Maria has struggled with life in England as well. The player and his family were forced to stay in a hotel after an attempt of burglary at his mansion.
It is believed that the Argentine is looking for a fresh start and PSG are his preferred destination. Relaxation of FFP rules mean that the French champions can now fork out a massive fee for Di Maria.
Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal is happy to hold on to Di Maria, but if the player wishes to leave, he will not stand in the way of a move.
Having paid 60 million pounds for the former Real Madrid man, United are looking to recoup most of what they paid and PSG’s offer seems good enough.
French media have been all over the park regarding Di Maria’s move to PSG and it remains to be seen if he is indeed unveiled as a PSG player this Friday, but it is certainly an interesting claim and one that might not be completely false.
