Here is Malaga player Martín Demichelis talking about the Copa Del Rey loss to Real Madrid and this weekend’s La Liga match with Atletico Madrid (In Spanish). English Translations below:
COMMENT 1: Copa Del Rey 1st leg last 16 defeat to Real Madrid
Question: Defeat against Real?
Answer: “Always after a defeat the feeling of losing is awful. Personally this stays with me until the next match, but what we can do is concentrate on the positive things we did against them (Real Madrid) now we are back in training.”
COMMENT 2: Copa Del Rey 1st leg last 16 defeat to Real Madrid
Question: How did you play against Real?
Answer:
“Speaking about the Real Madrid game we have to accept that we have demonstrated that we played as their equals at the Bernabéu and we showed that we are at their level. Hopefully we can carry on with this same mindset despite the result. I thing this was one of the best matches we have played. We were able to create a lot of dangerous situations lets hope we can stay at that level of playing. That would be something really positive to take into the next match.”
COMMENT 3: 2012
Question: Is there a lot of expectation from the Malaga La Liga fans this new year?
Answer:
“We are talking here about peoples hopes and expectations, lets hope we can give back something for all the support we are receiving in the coming matches at the Rosaleda. (Stadium) Obviously the most important will be at the end of the season when we can see what we have achieved and if we have become the team we want to be.”
COMMENT 4: Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone
Question: What can we expect from Diego Simeone as a manager?
Answer:
“I know him (Diego Simeone) I’ve seen him playing in Europe and I have also had the opportunity to play under Diego for Argentina. About his management I can’t tell you much. What I can say is that he transmits confidence and motivation when it matters. This is what I know from him. We will try to come out with the same motivation and energy that they (Atletico Madrid) will come here with. I believe we have a team that can play at the same level as them on the day.”
