After another disappointing performance in the 2-0 win against Malta on Tuesday, Cesare Prandelli points out Italy are “a work in progress. We must find our identity searching for entertaining football.”
In scraping a 2-2 draw in Bulgaria and beating Malta in their opening World Cup qualifiers, Italy have been a shadow of the side that reached the Euro 2012 finals this summer, and their performances have draw heavy criticism from fans and media.
“I don’t like to suggest we are an open building site, but this team is a work in progress,” the Coach told ANSA news agency.
“We’ve got to be more daring. We must find our identity searching for entertaining football.
“I do not have much time, but if we all want to work towards this aim, then we can create a spectacular Nazionale.”
