More Misery For Inter And AC Milan

It was another disappointing Sunday for AC Milan and Inter Milan as they both suffered defeats, while Lazio, Napoli and ampdoria all lost their 100% records.

Away against Udinese, Massimiliano Allegri’s Rossoneri suffered their third defeat in their four league games. Mathias Ranégie put Udinese ahead before Stephan El Shaarawy equalized before half-time. Milan then lost Cristián Zapata to a 66th-minute red card for bringing down Ranégie and Antonio Di Natale tucked in the resultant spot kick, before Milan ended with nine men following Kevin Prince-Boateng’s late sending-off. Heading into the match, the consensus in the Italian media was that Massimiliano Allegri had to win today in order to save his job. Will we see a managerial change in Milan this week?

As for Inter, they suffered their second home loss of the campaign as Simone Vergassola and Francesco Valiani struck in the final 17 minutes to give Siena a shock 2-0 win at San Siro. Andrea Stramaccioni’s side have now lost both their home matches in Serie A, while winning their two away outings. Interestingly, AC Milan have also failed to win any of their home games this season. San Siro jinx?

Lazio, Napoli and Sampdoria all lost their 100% records, meanwhile, with Lazio falling to Marco Borriello’s 79th-minute winner in a 1-0 defeat at Genoa. Napoli were unable to break the deadlock at Catania, despite their opponents losing Pablo Alvarez to a second-minute dismissal, and an 84th-minute Nicola Pozzi penalty rescued a 1-1 draw for Sampdoria against Torino.

Elsewhere, Palermo remain winless after Cristian Raimondi’s late strike gave Atalanta a 1-0 win, and ten-man Pescara picked up a first point of the season thanks to Juan Quintero’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Bologna.
