David Moyes cannot catch a break at the moment as he told the media on Friday that striker Robin van Persie been ruled out for a month with a thigh strain.
Van Persie, who has already been out with groin and toe injuries this season, could miss another eight games.
‘Robin Van Persie is out for a month” said Moyes
‘He picked up a thigh strain in taking a corner kick which led to the goal.’
‘It is unfortunate because I think if you look at our record with Wayne Rooney and Robin in the team it is actually very good and we have not had them for quite a period recently.”
With the holiday season coming up, this is a busy time for United, who play eight matches before facing Chelsea in the league on January 19.
Van Persie is expected to miss the games against Aston Villa (A), Stoke (A), West Ham (H), Hull (A),Norwich (A), Tottenham (H), Jan 1, Premier League Swansea (FA Cup) (H) and Swansea (H) in the league
Despite struggling for fitness this season, Van Persie has been one of United’s few bright spots scoring seven goals in 11 league appearances.
United are a different team with van Persie in the line-up as their record shows.
