Armed with a reported £150 million transfer budget, Manchester United are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market this summer.
Since Ed Woodward took over from David Gill in negotiating the actual transfer, United have been heavily criticized for the way that transfers have happened, with deal often happening late in August, which wipes out any sort of preseason campaign for the players.
With a USA trip scheduled to begin in mid-July it appears that United are determined to get their transfer budget competed early, so that the new signings can join Louis van Gaal and the rest of the United team in time for the tour.
United have already signed Dutch winger Memphis Depay from PSV and here is a look at the other places expected to join United this summer:
Dani Alves
Reports out of Spain are that Dani Alves has turned down a new contract offer from Barcelona and has instead signed a pre-contract agreement with United.Louis van Gaal has made no secret of the fact that he is a big fan of the Brazilian. The signing of Alves would immediately solve the right back position that plagued United last year.
Morgan Schneiderlin
Newspaper reports suggest that Schneiderlin has agreed terms with United despite strong links with Arsenal this summer. The Frenchman is leaving Southampton and the Red Devils are believed to have won the race to bring him in in a deal worth around £25m.
Ilkay Gundogan
United were reported two weeks ago to have finalised an agreement to bring in Gundogan from Borrusia Dortmund.
The move was played down recently amid claims Barcelona are closing in, but fresh claims say the deal is set to happen and United are preparing to announce his signature.
Karim Benzema
Covered this story earlier today, that United are in discussions with Real Madrid to swap David De Gea for the French striker. United are in the market for at least one world class strikers, if not two, and Benzema will fit the mold of what LVG is looking for.
Unknown Superstar
Last summer it was the arrivals of Angel Di Mari and Radamel Falcao that got the fans attention. Woodward has show that he likes the idea of United signing a world class talent every season. I expect United to be try and bring someone in the Bale, Pogba class. The question is whether they can pull off such a deal?
Who else would you like to see United sign this season?
