According to RMC in France, Manchester United have made a stunning late bid for AS Monaco striker Falcao.
Falcao was thought to be on his way to Real Madrid, and had even tweeted that he was heading to Madrid, before deleting it. But with Real taking Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez on loan, that move seems dead.
RMC state that it’s Manchester City who are enquiring about the state of his knee, but that United have got in touch with Jorge Mendes over the past few hours to enquire.
With Robin van Persie set to undergo knee surgery, Hernandez on a plan to Madrid and Danny Welbeck rumored to be gong to Spurs, suddenly United look a little thin up top.
I am a huge fan of Falcao. All he does is score goals wherever he goes and I consider him the best pure number nine in football today.
If United do sign Falcao it will be a huge coup, especially as they are seemingly battling Man City for his signature. But is a another striker, even one as good as Falcao, really where United need to be spending £50million at the moment? Would that money not be better spent signing a center half and defensive midfielder?
