Malaga are reportedly preparing an offer for Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner.
The 24-year-old Denmark international, who has two years remaining on his Gunners contract, is looking to move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer after Arsenal signed forwards Lukas Podoski and Olivier Giroud this summer.
Bendtner’s agent Tom Brookes is confident that the player will “end up at a top club” and, following with their entry into the Champions League this summer, Malaga would fall into that category.
Arsenal are reported to have put a £15m fee on Bendtner, which is nothing to Malaga, who are in the market to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy who retired at the end of last season.
Malaga’s hunt for a new striker became a little more desperate on Tuesday with the news that Brazilian forward Julio Baptista will be out of action for four months after surgery on the Achilles tendon.
Baptista missed most of last season with injury problems, making only four league appearances before having surgery on his right foot in December.
No word from Malaga on how Baptista suffered this latest injury.
Of course they should renew his contract. This is a proven manager with a big success record. Give him time to work and do his job. In the time he’s been at Inter, he has changed how they play. I remember watching games with Stramaccioni’s Inter last year and we couldn’t even dictate the game against bottom table teams. Inter has game now. Watch the game against Roma or Napoli. Mazzarri is a hard-working manager. He reminds me of Mourinho. He’s never been fired because he’s always been successful. Let him work for another year and then fire him if he doesn’t bring in results even with new players. It is hard to find a better coach right now to replace Mazzarri. We’ve had too many coaches ever since the Triplete. We need some stability.
