It’s summer time so it must be time for our annual Luis Suarez is heading to Spain stories. This summer’s story comes courtesy of Suarez’s lawyer who says that the Premier League Player of the Year would be tempted to a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Alejandro Balbi told Cadena SER that Suarez has a “predisposition for Spain” amid reports linking the Uruguay international with the European champions but suggested he is set to remain at Anfield.
“A year ago he was very likely to leave Liverpool,” Balbi told the Spanish radio network. “Now I think it is very difficult because he is an idol, although clubs can offer a lot of money.
“If there is such a big offer from Real Madrid, it would be very difficult to say no. Luis Suarez has always had a predisposition for Spain.”
When will it stop? We heard that Suarez wanted money and Champions League football. Liverpool delivered on both. You can even make the case that if Suarez had not been suspended for the first games of the season, when Liverpool dropped five points that they would have won the title.
I understand that there is no loyalty in football, but I have no time for players who always think that the grass is greener elsewhere. At Anfield, Suarez is adored. That will not be the case at Real Madrid where he will be behind Ronaldo, Bale and Ramos for the fans affection. How will you like that Luis?
