Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola confirmed in a press conference that striker Bojan Krkic has signed a contract extension at the club until 2015.
The young Spanish international has but pen to paper on the improved deal, and when addressing the media ahead of the Blaugrana’s Copa del Rey match against Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday evening, the tactician confessed he was pleased with his decision.
“This is very good news for Barcelona,” Guardiola said. “We have great confidence in him, and the evidence is with us, because otherwise we would have allowed him to be transferred last summer.”
Guardiola also spoke about the possible renewal of Dani Alves’s contract, with discussions still ongoing, and he commented on the Brazilian:
“We are expectant that this issue will be resolved soon and I understand the problems on both sides. We are relieved that he will soon sign.”
Finally, of the visit of Athletic Bilbao, Guardiona concluded:
“They come here with [Fernando] Llorente and I am not sure whether they will play with Toquero as a lone striker, or will bet with players such as Susaeta or Muniain.”
