Reports are growing that Juventus have already agreed a deal to sign Lucio after his contract was terminated by Inter Milan on Friday.
Lucio had been in talks with Fenerbahce about moving to the Turkish side and they and Inter had difficulties in agreeing an a transfer fee for the 34-year-old defender. So to help the transfer along, Inter agreed to release him from his contract on Friday, even though Lucio still had two years left on his contract at Inter.
Immediately newspapers suggested Juve could swoop for the Brazilian on a free transfer, just as they had for Andrea Pirlo when he left Milan.
It is reported Juventus have proposed a two-year contract worth €2.2m per season plus bonuses, which is almost half the wages he commanded at Inter.
No doubt Inter will be furious at Lucio if he moves to bitter rivals Juventus, as they only released him as they thought Lucio was heading to Fenerbahce.
