David De Gea’s agent has told BBC Sport the goalkeeper is staying at Manchester United. United’s reigning Player of the Year is out of contract in 2016 and has been the subject of intense speculation linking him with a move to reported Real Madrid.
But in the clearest indication yet that De Gea will stay at Old Trafford Mendes said:
“He has one year left on his contract and I think that he will stay in Manchester,” said the 49-year-old Mendes.
“The player will decide, but he’s happy there, at the moment.”
Not exactly a guarantee that De Gea will sign a new deal, but it is the most positive statement we have heard from Mendes or the De Gea in weeks.
Do you think that David De Gea will sign a new deal at United or will he move to Real Madrid in the summer?
