England goalkeeper Joe Hart has landed in Italy as his season-long loan move to Torino edges closer to completion. The Italian side have agreed to pay around £55,000 of Hart’s £135,000-a-week wages, leaving just the medical to complete the move.
The Manchester City goalkeeper, who has been left out in the cold by new City manager Pep Guardiola, is reported to have personally pushed for the deal due to his willingness to play in Serie A, despite interest from a number of Premier League sides, who were keen to keep him in England.
Torino coach Sinisa Mihajlovic specifically requested the acquisition of the Hart, due to being unconvinced by current No.1 Daniele Padelli and Torino saw off competition from Napoli and Sunderland to secure a deal for Hart.
The club are hopeful that the purchase of Hart along with keeping hold of the in form Andrea Belotti, who bagged a hat-trick against Bologna last weekend, will serve to further their Europa League qualification ambitions this season.
Joe Hart has has made 347 appearances for City and has won the Premier League Golden Glove award, handed out to those keepers with the most clean sheets over the course of a campaign, in four of the past seven seasons.
