After seeing his client dropped/rested against Southampton at the weekend, Radamel Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes admits the striker’s Manchester United future is uncertain amid reports that the Monaco striker could move to Serie A side Juventus at the end of the season.
Falcao has scored just three Premier League goals while on loan at United this season, and he has looked a shadow of the former world class striker he was before he injured his knee a year ago.
Attending the Ballon d’Or ceremony last night in Zurich with another of his clients Cristiano Ronaldo, Mendes told Sky Italia that Falcao wil play for “one of the very best clubs” next season, but said it may not be the Old Trafford side
Answering a specific question on whether the striker will ever be seen in Serie A, Mendes replied:
“I don’t know. He is a fantastic player, and I think it’s very difficult for Manchester United fans — they have an absolutely brilliant player, one of the very best in the world, who would without any doubt play 90 minutes of the match, every time, with any other club.
“The truth is, right now we don’t know what will happen. What we do know is that he will play in one of the very best clubs in the world next season, whether that is Manchester United or not.
“I am 100 percent sure of that. But you know how football works — we need to wait a little. We’ll see what happens.”
Falcao has repeatedly said that he loves being at Old Trafford, but media leaks suggest that Louis van Gaal is not convinced that the Columbian striker is worth the £40m plus transfer fee and wages of £200,000 a week. Based on his play this season most United fans would have to agree with that assessment.
Would you make the Falcao loan deal permanent if you were United?
