Thiago Silva has admitted to speaking with Barcelona about a possible move to the Camp Nou.
Thiago, who not that far into a long-term deal with Milan, now says that he is open to a move to Spain.
“I have had contact with people from Barca,” Silva told TV Esporte Interativo in Brazil. “It’s a really cool thing to be able to talk to them (but) now, I’m at Milan. It’s been just two or three months since I renewed my contract, to the end of 2016, so they would have to speak directly with the club.”
Silva had high praise for the European champions’ passing game, saying:
“It’s complicated to play against that team. They get you nervous. I had the opportunity to play against their reserves and I was really nervous. Their passing game is just so perfect.”
You would think that three months after signing Silva to a new deal that Milan would be in no hurry to let him leave. But after signing Philippe Mexes from Roma earlier this summer, they have cover for Silva.
Signing Thiago Silva makes perfect sense for Barca, as strengthening their defence has to be their main focus this summer.
