Inter Milan have now gone five games without a win in all competitions after suffering a shocking 1-0 home loss to bottom club Novara.
On-loan forward Andrea Caracciolo buried the winning goal after 56 minutes to heap more misery on Claudio Ranieri’s men, who were thrashed 4-0 by AS Roma last time out. Novara lost midfielder Ivan Radovanović to a second yellow card ten minutes from time, but the hosts were still unable to pull level, despite Wesley Sneijder hitting the crossbar late on.
Everything looked so good for Inter when they won the Milan derby last month, but the wheels have came off again and Claudio Ranieri does not look like the man who can lead Inter to success.
The result leaves the Nerazzurri in fifth, six points behind Lazio in the third and final UEFA Champions League spot. Elsewhere on Sunday, Calcio moved further clear of the relegation zone by downing Genoa 4-0, Pablo Barrientos scoring twice, and third-bottom Lecce drew 0-0 at Atalanta.
Juventus’s trip to Bologna and the match between Parma and Fiorentina fell victim to the adverse weather conditions, meanwhile.
