According to reports out of Italy, Inter Milan have reached a pre-contract agreement with Sevilla’s Ever Banega, whose contract expires in the summer.
Banega flew into Milan recently to complete the first part of his medical and finalize terms on a new three-year deal.
The free transfer signing would represent a significant coup for Inter, and the deal reportedly does not include any provisions on Inter qualifying for Europe next season.
The signing of Banega, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona, is a big coup for the Nerazzurri and especially Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti who played a pivotal role in persuading the 27-year-old Argentinian national to make the move to Serie A from La Liga.
Banega plays the No.10 role in Sevilla where he has scored 8 times and had 2 assists this season, which is a position that Inter have struggled with this season. The Nerazzurri’s 34 goals from 26 games is the lowest by any side in the top six in Italy.
What do you think of Banega. Is he the type of signing that Inter needs to close the gap on the top teams in Italy?
