Inter Milan Line Up Olivier Giroud

It looks like Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is going to get his wish and finally complete a move to Inter Milan in the summer as a free agent.

Giroud tried to push through a move to Inter in January after a frustrating first half of the season with Frank Lampard’s side, but Chelsea blocked the move due to a lack of alternative options up front at Stamford Bridge.

Giroud is desperate to play regular first team football next season as he wants to be part of the French side at the Euro’s next summer.

There had been reports recently that Chelsea were looking to extend his deal beyond the end of the current season, but Tuttosport now claim that Giroud has made up his mind to move to Serie A.

The 33-year-old striker will now move to Inter on a free transfer after agreeing to a two-year contract with an option of a third year.

The news comes a few days after reports claiming that the former Arsenal striker was ready to take a significant hit on his current wages of £135,000-per-week.

With no transfer fee to pay, Gazzetta dello Sport report that Giroud could earn around €110,000-per-week, which would make him one of Inter’s top earners next season.

Giroud scored three goals in just 13 competitive games for Chelsea this season. But in the last couple of years it his work off the ball for teammates at Chelsea, and especially the French National Team that have made him such a valuable teammate.

With Inter striker Lautaro Martínez rumored to be leaving this summer, Giroud would be a nice compliment to the Inter squad, but I don’t see him as a direct replacement.

What do you think Inter fans? Is Olivier Giroud a good signing?
