Inter Milan manager has given high praise to Geoffrey Kondogbia by comparing him to compatriot and Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
However, it hasn’t all been rosy between the pair. Back in September, De Boer criticized Kondogbia for his performance in Inter’s 1-1 draw with Bologna.
As a result of Kondogbia’s underwhelming display, the defensive midfielder was substituted in the 28th minute of the match.
But De Boer seems to have forgiven the Frenchman and claimed that he can also reach the top of the game.
‘Kondogbia is like Pogba,’ De Boer said.
‘They play the same position.
‘He has to win his personal duels and keep things simple, but he has all the characteristics needed to become a top player.
‘He is still young and has room for improvement. But he is physically strong and has a lot of quality. He has to keep working on details to improve.’
De Boer’s side currently sit ninth in the Serie A table with 11 points from their seven opening matches. Inter will be hoping to bounce back from defeat against Roma by beating Cagilari on October 16.
