It has been a good holiday season for both Manchester City And Manchester United as City find themselves top of the the league, while United are only two points out of a Champions League spot.
Man City have been perfect in the league at home this season and they maintained that 100% record with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. Edin Džeko scoring from Jesús Navas’ pull back in the 66th minute. But City will have to thank goalkeeper Joe Hart for preserving the win as he made two really good saves to deny Jason Puncheon and Marouane Chamakh. With the win, City moved two points clear of Arsenal at the top, with the Gunners facing Newcastle United away on Sunday.
Man United were not that impressive at Norwich, but they still managed to make it five league wins in a row thanks to a Danny Welbeck goal in the second half. United are unbeaten in 10 games now in all competitions and are quietly closing in on a top four place.
When you play two games in 48 hours, tiredness seeps into the players legs and we occasionally see the kind of mauling we say at Hull today, as Steve Bruce’s side thumped Fulham 6-0. It was 0-0 at half-time but Fulham ran out of energy in the second half as Hull put them to the sword.
Elsewhere, West Brom and West Ham drew 3-3 at Upton Park while Swansea City drew 1-1 at Aston Villa.
