According to Giuseppe Rossi’s agent the Villareal striker will not be moving to Barcelona despite rumors for weeks that the deal was nearly done.
Villareal head coach Juan Carlos Garrido has said that they would have to sell Rossi if a good offer came in and it appeared as if it did from Barcelona, but the striker who scored 18 La Liga goals for the Yellow Submarine will not be moving to the defending league and UEFA Champions League champions.
“It’s a deal that is definitely off,” Rossi’s agent, Federico Pastorello, told Sky Sport 24 on Thursday. “We are now evaluating a number of options for Rossi’s future, but we can’t rule out the possibility that he could remain at Villarreal. How much will he cost? His valuation is that of a top player.”
Rossi I believe was always a fallback in case the Sanchez deal fell through. The signings of Sanchez and Fabregas will blow up Barca’s summer transfer budget and their was simply not enough money to go after Rossi as well.
