Aston Villa are expected to announce later today that Gerard Houllier has been named their new manager replacing Martin O’Neil.
Houllier still needs to find an assistant manager with Gary McAllister and Dietmar Hamann, who both played under Houllier for Liverpool, have been linked with the role.
He is expected to meet his new team tomorrow at training after which he will have his first press conference as Villa manager.
Houllier’s first match in charge will be Monday’s Barclays Premier League clash at Stoke.
