The first fallout of the David Beckham to AC Milan loan deal is that the LA Galaxy have cancelled their post-season trip to Australia to play the Queensland Roar.
Reports are coming in that Beckham vetoed the trip as he did not want to risk getting injured before he moves to Milan.
Without Beckham, nobody in Brisbane is interested in seeing the LA Galaxy play.
“To avoid disappointment for the many fans that were expected to travel to Brisbane from all parts of Australia for this event, it was decided to postpone this game before tickets went on sale to the general public,” said Tom Payne, the Galaxy’s president of business operations, in a statement.
“Fans with tickets as a result of a priority pre-purchase this week will receive a full refund.
“We are very hopeful that we will be able to re-schedule the game in Brisbane in the near future and will make this a priority for our organisation.”
