It’s decision time for Chelsea captain John Terry after Chelsea’s latest one year contract offer proposes to cut his current £150,000-a-week deal in half.
Despite having an outstanding season for the Blues, Chelsea are standing firm on their policy that outfield players over 30 are only offered one-year extensions, and on reduced terms.
Terry faces a major dilemma over whether to quit the club he loves and where a fans’ banner at Stamford Bridge famously proclaims him as ‘Captain. Leader, Legend.’ Or whether to bolt for someone like Galatasary and get one last big payday.
The contract situation of both Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole has been noticeably quiet and I fully expect both of them to leave Chelsea for other clubs this season.
The question is will Terry join them, or will he be loyal to the Blues?
