Arriving to meet with his players and staff on Wednesday, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has outlined the 2012-13 season objectives.
The Vesuviani have so far lost Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain, but confirmed Goran Pandev, called back Lorenzo Insigne and brought in Valon Behrami and Alessandro Gamberini.
These preparations, combined with the club’s Coppa Italia success last season, has De Laurentiis looking forward to the new season.
“I’m strongly motivated for the new season, the Scudetto should be everyone’s goal,” declared the President to reporters as he arrived at Napoli’s Dimaro pre-season camp.
“We will also be one of the two teams to qualify automatically for the Champions League, and we will do well in the Coppa Italia and Europa League.”
The movie producer also explained the thinking behind the recent double signing of Behrami and Gamberini from Fiorentina.
“They are two gifts for [Coach Walter] Mazzarri, with Financial Fair Play in mind.”
The challenge for Napoli will be to hold onto striker Edinson Cavani, who is a target of European Champins Chelsea. Will De Laurentiis be able to turn down a £35million offer for his hitman?
