David Silva has been ruled out for two to three weeks with injury and is likely not to play for Valencia again this season.
The winger had to be taken off the pitch during the win over Real Madrid at the weekend and was replaced in the 56th minute.
The official Valencia website has now confirmed that he has suffered an injury to his right leg and will be absent for two to three weeks.
Silva was already suspended for the game with Atletico Madrid this weekend but he will now miss other key games at the end of the season too.
After Atleti, Valencia travel to El Madrigal to take on Villarreal, in a game which could well decide who gets fourth spot, depending how the clash at the Vicente Calderon turns out this Sunday.
In the final game of the season, los Che take on Athletic Bilbao at home, and that is in just 19 days time.
Whether or not Silva will recover for that match is not clear, but at the moment it looks unlikely that he will play another part in Valencia’s season.
With three games to go, Unai Emery’s team currently sit one point clear of Atletico Madrid in the final Champions League place.
