Two of the first casualties of the Jose Mourinho era at Old Trafford could be Daley Blind and Juan Mata. According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are interested in both players.
According to Sport, the reigning La Liga champions have identified the Blind as a transfer target and believe his versatility would be a vital asset.
Barca are in the market for a central defender, but reportedly like that he can play in the centre of defence or midfield. Plus at an estimated £18 million, is relatively cheap compared to other central defenders on the market.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona had also interested in Juan Mata to help turn their three-pronged attack of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar into a four-man attacking force.
Blind to Barcelona makes sense to me, but they have lots of players like Mata and I don’t see him playing regular at the Camp Nou. Maybe another club in La Liga would be a better fit for the former Chelsea player.
Mourinho has reportedly bene given a transfer budget of over £200 million, but I am sure that is a net amount, meaning that any funds he raises from selling the likes of Blind, Mata, Fellaini, etc can be reinvested in new players.
