Juventus coach Antonio Conte is trying to lower expectations of Juve fans this season by saying that his side will need time to return to winning ways after finishing only seventh last season.
After a busy summer in the transfer market and the arrival of a new coach, expectations are really high in Turin that Juve will be challenging for a Champions League spot this season. But Conte has stated that people should not expect too much and added that it was crucial to keep on working hard during the pre-season.
“I understand people’s excitement, but we don’t want to delude anyone. In order to be back on track we need time and work,” Conte said. “We have to continue our hard work. Good results can be achieved by working hard, but do not come overnight. We’re going through a learning process. Where we are? Where I expected us to be. We need to work hard and have to be patient.”
Juventus finished 24 points behind champions AC Milan last season. But with Inter and Udinese weaker than they were last season, there is no reason why Juventus should not finish high enough to earn a European spot this season.
