Earlier this week the Italian TV show ‘Chiambretti Night’ hosted yet another football celebrity, after already welcoming Inter coach Jose Mourinho and his predecessor Roberto Mancini.
This time it was Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon’s turn, and he admitted that his side no longer have a chance to win the Scudetto this season, having fallen ten points behind Inter following their latest defeat to Genoa (3-2).
“Our defence has become a shambles,” he blasted. “However, when you concede a lot of goals, the blame should go to everyone. Inter deserve to win, because we fell apart. It would bother me to lose [this weekend] like in the first match against them. Finishing four or five points behind is better than finishing 10 or 12 points behind…”
In the match between the two sides at San Siro earlier this season, the Nerazzurri won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Sulley Muntari. Juve’s last victory against Inter in Turin came in the 2005-2006 season, just before their demotion to Serie B.
