The summer transfer window is almost upon us and there is a slew of big names available for free in Serie A this summer.
The two biggest names available without a transfer fee are undoubtedly current Italian internationals Daniele De Rossi and Riccardo Montolivo.
The Roma vice-captain is perhaps the most high-profile name among the 105 players with expiring deals, and while the Giallorossi are confident that a new contract will be agreed with the 28-year-old, the club’s supporters face a testing four weeks before the end of the month.
Juventus skipper Alessandro Del Piero is another star name on the list after the Bianconeri’s announcement earlier this season that he will not be offered a new deal. Could Dep Piero sign for another Serie A club? It would be very strange to see him in anything except a Juventus shirt.
AC Milan is trying to get a lot younger this summer, so it is no surprise to see that they have nine squad members with expiring deals, meaning they each run the risk of losing a big piece of their squad for no money this summer.
