Barcelona booked their place in the Copa del Ray final with a comfortable 3-0 win over Almeria to give them a comprehensive 8-0 aggregate victory over two legs.
Pepe Guardia rested almost all his starers for the second leg, with Dani Alves and Sergio Busquets the only regulars in Barcelona’s starting lineup. But even Barca’s second team was much too strong for Almeria.
Barcelona got goals from Adriano in the 35th minute and Thiago in the 56th. Newly acquired Ibrahim Affelay added his first goal for Barca in the 76th to complete the two-game route.
Barcelona, which has won the Copa del Rey a record 25 times, will play Real Madrid or defending champion Sevilla in the final on April 20. Real Madrid entered Wednesday night’s second leg with a 1-0 aggregate lead.
Barcelona has outscored Almeria 16-0 in three games this season and all opponents 108-22 as they close in on an other treble.
