Barcelona’s injuries woes continue ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League first-leg semifinal at Real Madrid after medical scans revealed injuries to Maxwell and Gabriel Milito.
According to the Barcelona web site:
“This Sunday morning Milito and Maxwell were subjected to various medical tests. It was confirmed that Milito suffered a pull to his right calf, and Maxwell has a groin strain. Both Milito and Maxwell underwent ultrasound and MRI scans this morning, which confirmed the diagnostics from Saturday after the game: a small calf pull in his right leg in the case of Milito and a groin strain in Maxwell’s case.”
Pepe Guardiola is going to have to reshuffle his defence then for the trip to the Bernabeu as in addition to the injuries to maxwell and Milito, Barca is also without Eric Abidal and Adriano is still out, with a muscle tear in his right thigh, while captain and centerback Carles Puyol is questionable.
