The first title of the 2012-13 season is up for contention and both Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking to make a dramatic entrance by lifting the Spanish Super Cup. The first leg, which will be played on Thursday at the Camp Nou, already has a clear favourite for the bookies: Barça.
A triumph by Vilanova’s team is the favoured outcome and therefore the worst paid: €1.80 for each euro laid down for an ‘Azulgrana’ victory. Madrid winning or managing a draw at the Camp Nou is considered less likely. Bettors who back them will take home €3.90 for each euro laid down for a draw or a Real Madrid win.
The situation is much different when it comes to picking the overall winner – the team which will end up lifting the trophy at the Bernabéu on 29th August. Taking into account both the first and second legs, a victory for Barcelona or José Mourinho’s team pays exactly the same. Anyone willing to venture for a triumph by one team or the other will take home €1.85 for each euro wagered.
