Arsenal’s new £35m midfielder Granit Xhaka wearing Arsenal’s home kit, the only problem is that he is still a Borussia Monchengladbach player.
Reportedly the transfer fee between the two clubs has been agreed on, but there was still some discussion over the 23-year-old’s wage demands.
When the deal does go through When the move officially goes through in the summer, Xhaka will become the latest member of Arsenal’s 100 club.
The Swiss international is one of Europe’s most talented prospects and has previously admitted a move to the Premier League would be a dream.
This is the second time in five months that Arsene Wenger has raided the Swiss league for a midfielder. In January he bought 23-year-old Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel for a reported £5.5m.
Taking together these are really moves by Arsenal. Xhaka and Elneny will replace Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini and Tomás Rosicky, who are out of contract now. Suddenly Arsenal and younger, deeper and more athletic in midfield.
