Former AC Milan Carlo Ancelotti believes that his former club is about to begin a new cycle of winning.
Milan won the Scudetto this season for the first time since 2004 and Ancelotti wasimpressed with Massmiliano Allegri’s achievement in only his first year in charge.
“Massimiliano had clear ideas, he made the most of [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic in the early part of the season and exploited the experience of senior players towards the end,” said the former Chelsea boss, according to AFP. “His management was excellent. Milan could open a new cycle, bringing Ibrahimovic was an intelligent move as were their January acquisitions [Antonio Cassano and Mark van Bommel].”
Ancelotti won the Champions League in 2003 and 2007 with Milan, but warned Milan fans that European success might be further off:
“In Europe the competitiveness has moved on with respect to the Italian teams.”
