Ahead of AC Milan’s game with Lazio, Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri was asked what it would take to win the title.
“We must be very careful indeed because this is a crucial stage of the season and we can’t afford to be dropping points.” Indeed. Because the bee in his bonnet is the 80-point mark and “to get them we have to win another 11 games. To finish higher than that, all the other sides would need to win 13 out of 16.” Not that he’s making plans; for Allegri it’s just “mathematical facts”.
For those keeping score at home, Inter’s points total in winning the Serie A title the last three years have been 82, 85 and 84 points. I am not sure if 80 points will be enough for Milan this season.
