AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is confident that additions will be made to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window, as the club looks to recover from the departures of several stars this summer.
The Rossoneri had already released veterans Clarence Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi, Gennaro Gattuso and Alessandro Nesta before losing Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG last week.
And after losing to rivals Juventus and Inter Milan in the pre-season Trofeo TIM on Saturday, questions were raised as to how competitive Allegri’s team will be in 2012-13.
However, the 44-year-old believes reinforcements will be made to ensure that Milan can challenge in Serie A and the Champions League in the coming season.
“The club knows what to do. Some players have left and for now I can only work with the elements at my disposal, but more will arrive before August 31.
“I am not someone who chops people down. We evaluated along with the club, so some players remained and more will come in, so with that squad we must aim for a top three position in Serie A.”
