AC Milan Striker Hands In Transfer Request

January Transfer Window

Gonzalo Higuain has formally requested to leave AC Milan as he tries to push through a move to Chelsea this week.

Chelsea are allowing striker Michy Batshuayi to join Monaco on loan for the rest of the season as they look to finalise terms with Higuain’s parent club Juventus.

Milan still want a replacement before allowing Higuain to cut short his loan, while Juventus want Chelsea to take over the terms of the 31-year-old’s deal which entails an initial £16m fee with obligation to buy at £32m.

Chelsea are understood to have proposed an 18 month loan.

Alvaro Morata could yet be used in negotiations with Sevilla having turned to other options.

Juventus and Milan face each other in Jeddah on Wednesday for the Italian Super Cup, when further talks are planned.

Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri also hopes for progress on bringing in Leandro Paredes, the Argentinian midfielder at Zenit St Petersburg.
