MLS Rumors has the scoop on a potential blockbuster three-way trade between the Chicago Fire, LA Galaxy and Toronto FC.
The catalyst for the trade is U.S. star Brian McBride. McBride was last seen keeping Fulham in the Premiership and now he wants to play in Major League Soccer, specifically Chicago. The problem is that Chicago doesn’t own the rights to McBride Toronto does.
What Toronto is looking for is a forward he can actually score. The problem is that Chicago does not have any of them. Enter the LA Galaxy where Carlos Ruiz is suddenly surplus material.
It looks like the Galaxy would trade Ruiz to Toronto and Toronto would then send the rights to McBride to Chicago. To complete the circle, Chicago would send defender William Conde to LA. Conde’s time in Chicago is up after getting into a fight with Fire star Blanco last week.
So Toronto gets a forward they need, Chicago gets their dream pairing of McBride and Blanco and LA gets the defender that they desperately need. The only problem with this trade scenario is that it makes too much sense!
